Meat Pie Recipe


servings 10

10 sheets of puff pastry
2 tbsp vegetable oil
300 gr mince
2 medium carrots, peeled and cubed
200 gr peas
2 tbsp vermicelli


1 tsp coriander, dried
1 tsp saffron powder
1/4 tsp cajenne pepper
1/4 tsp curcuma powder
1/4 tsp red pepper powder
ground black pepper

1 egg, beaten


1. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a medium pan or skillet over medium heat. Cook the cubed carrots for about 3-4 minutes. Add the mince and cook the mince until it's no longer pink. Add the spices, salt vermicelli and peas. Cook until the vermicelli is softened. Remove form heat and allow to cool.

2. Preheat your oven to 220 C - 430 F and line a sheet with parchment paper.

3. Place 1,5 tbsp of the mince onto one side of each puff pastry sheet. Fold the other side over the meat mixture matching the edges. Press the edge with the tines of a fork to crimp. Place on lined sheet.

4. Brush the top with beaten egg. Bake in preheated oven for about 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
