Turkish Feta Gozleme Recipe



300 gr all purpose flour
1 tsp salt
7 gr dry yeast
1 tsp sugar
150 ml water, warm
45 ml oil

100 gr feta, crumbled
50 ml oil


1. In a small bowl, combine water, sugar and yeast. Stir and let sit for 5 minutes.

2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt and oil. Add the yeast mixture and knead until elastic. Oil a bowl, place the dough and cover with plastic wrap. Stand in a warm place for about 50 to 60 minutes or until doubled in size.

3. On a floured surface, Divide dough into 6 to 7 balls. Roll each dough out into a rectangle.Brush with oil, place feta cheese over half of each dough. Fold dough over the filling. Press edges together to seal. Brush top with oil.

4. Heat a skillet, brush one side of each gozleme with 2 teaspoons oil. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes or until base is golden. Brush uncooked side with remaining oil. Turn over and cook for 2 to 3 minutes or until golden and crisp. Remove to a serving plate. Cut gozleme into quarters.  and toast both sides of each dough for about 2-3 minutes over meidum heat.
