Fried Potato Balls


makes 20 balls

2 large potatoes, peeled and cutted
1 tbsp butter
1 egg yolk
50 gr grated cheese
pinch ground black pepper
1 tsp salt
3 tbsp all purpose flour

1 egg
1 egg white
10 tbsp all purpose flour
10 tbsp breadcrumbs

pot of oil 


1. Add a pinch of salt and the potatoes to a large pot filled with water. Bring to a boil for about 20 minutes.

2. Drain the potattoes, place in a large bowl. Add 1 tbsp butter,1 egg yolk, flour, cheese, salt and pepper. Mash with a potato masher or spoon until smooth.

3. Shape into walnut size balls with your hands.

4. Beat 1 egg, 1 egg white and pinch salt.

5. Cover each ball with flour, beaten egg and bread crumbs.

6. Heat a pot of frying oil over medium heat, fry the potato balls until golden brown.
Serve warm.
