Dutch Apple Beignets (Dutch Apple Fritters)


Dutch new years treat apple beignets


125 gr all purpose flour
Pinch salt
2 eggs
1 tbsp vegetable oil
125 ml beer
3 medium apples
2 tsp cinnamon
Oil for deep-frying

Icing sugar


1. In a small bowl, combine flour, salt, eggs and oil. Whisk in beer until a smooth batter. Cover with clean kitchen towel and let sit for 1 hour.

2. Peal and core the apples and cut them in 1 cm / ¼” slices. Dust the sliced apples with ground cinnamon.

3. Drag the apple slices through the batter and deep fry them till they are golden brown.
Serve hot and sprinkle with icing sugar.
