Cheeseburger Pies


4 servings

400 gr ground beef
1/2 onion, chopped
ground salt and ground pepper
4 sheets of puff pastry
1 tbsp mustard, optional
100 gr cheddar cheese, grated
1 egg, beaten


1. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion and season with salt and pepper. Form the mixture into 4 exual size patties

2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil. Brown the burgers about 3 minutes per side. Season with more salt and pepper.

3. Preheat your oven to 220 C - 430 F and line a sheet with parhment paper.

4. Onto each sheet of puff pastry, spread 1 tsp mustard, grated cheese and the burger. Fold the pastry up around the burgers and pinch the edges together to seal. Brush top of each pastry with beaten egg.

5. Bake in preheated oven for about 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
