Spaghetti Bolognese recipe

Serves: 4

500 gr beef mince
500 gr spaghetti
800 gr (2 tins) of plum/chopped tomatoes
1 onion, peeled and finely diced
1 clove garlic, peeled and finely diced
1 carrot, trimmed and finely diced
olive oil
ground pepper
1/2 tbsp dried oregano


1. Get yourself a large heavy-bottomed saucepan, and place it on a medium heat. Add a good lug of olive oil and add your onions, carrots, and garlic. Move everything around and fry for around 3-4 minutes until the veg has softened.

2. Next, increase the heat slightly, add the mince and stir until the meat is browned all over.
Season with salt and ground black pepper.

3. Stir in 2 tins of chopped tomatoes cook for 2-3 minutes.
Add oregano and stir. Remove from heat.

4. Meanwhile add salt to a pan of boiling water and cook the spaghetti according the the packet instructions. Once the spaghetti is ready, drain it in a colander, add salt and oil.

5. Spoon sauce over the spaghetti and serve with grated parmesan.
