Ingredients
  • 65g unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 75g granulated sugar
  • 75g all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp of salt
Method

1. Preheat the oven to 200 C / 390 F and grease your madeleines pan with butter or cooking spray.

2. Cream the egg and sugar for about 5 minutes. Using a spatula, stir in the melted butter and all-purpose flour. Then add the vanilla and salt, stir until incorporated.

3. Using 2 teaspoons, spoon about 2 teaspoons of the batter into the greased mold.

4. Bake in preheated oven for about 8 to 10 minutes. 
Cool madeleines in the pan for a minute or two, then gently loosen them from the molds. If they stick, carefully run a small knife around the edge of the cakes until they release.

5. Dust with confectioners' sugar and serve warm, with coffee or tea.
