Hot Chocolate Candy Cane Cookies


Servings: 10 Cookies - Prep time: 10 minutes - Cook time: 12 minutes - Total time: 22 minutes


  • 112, 5 g butter, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 145 g white sugar
  • 150 g all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 80 g chocolate chips
  • 3 candy canes, crushed


1. Preheat the oven to 180C(356F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. In a medium mixing bowl, cream the butter, egg, sugar and vanilla. Stir in the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cocoa powder and pinch salt. Knead until smooth and a sticky dough begins to form. Add the chocolate chips and knead until well combined.

3. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls or ice cream scoop about 2 inches apart onto lined baking sheet.

4. Lightly press down crushed candy canes onto each ball of dough. Bake in preheated oven fr about 10 to 12 minutes.

5.  Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet. Cool on wire rack.
