Coffee Brownies


Servings: 8 - Prep time: 15 minutes - Cook time: 35 minutes - Total time: 50 minutes


  • 185 g unsalted butter
  • 185 g dark chocolate chips or chunks
  • 85 g all purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 200 g sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 7,5 g baking powder
  • 40 ml warm water + 3 tsp Coffee powder (espresso or your favorite coffee)
  • 50 dark chocolate chips


1. Preheat the oven to 180C(356F) and grease a brownie pan with butter or nonstick cooking spray.

2. In a medium sauce pan, melt butter. Stir in chocolate and allow to cool. Stir together the warm water and coffee powder. Allow t0 cool.

3. In a medium mixing bowl, cream the eggs and sugar. Stir in the butter mixture and coffee mixture. Add cocoa powder, baking powder and all purpose flour. Stir until well combined.

4. Scrape the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Top with some dark chocolate chips. Bake in preheated oven for about 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out with moist crumbs but no wet batter. Let cool to room temperature on a rack, then slice and serve.
