Halloween Breadstick bones


Servings: 6 - Prep time: 30 minutes - Baking time: 20 minutes -
Total time: 50 minutes


  • 7 gr dry yeast
  • 100 m warm water
  • 1 tsp white sugar
  • 200 gr all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp butter, melted
  • 3 tbsp shredded mozzarella cheese


1. Dissolve the yeast; in a small bowl, stir together the water, sugar and dry yeast. Set aside for 5 minutes.

2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, oil, salt and dissolved yeast knead until a ball of dough begins to form. (5 to 10 minutes).

3. Oil a bowl and place the dough into the greased bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and allow to rise for about 20 minutes.

4. Preheat the oven to 220C(428F) and grease or line a baking tray with parchment paper.

5. Divide the dough into 6 equal balls. Roll each ball into an 8-inch rope slightly larger on the ends.  Using scissors, cut a 1-inch slit on the ends of each breadstick and gently stretch each of the cut pieces apart to form the ends of the bones. Place on lined bakin tray.

6. Brush the breadsticks with the melted butter then sprinkle on the shredded mozzarella. Bake the breadsticks for about 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
