Deep Fried Cookies


Servings: 5 to 6 - Prep time: 15 minutes - Cooking time: 10 minutes - 
Total time: 25 minutes

  • 225 gr all purpose flour(plus more)
  • 100 gr white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 60 gr butter, softened
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • pinch salt
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 4 tbsp funfetti, optional
  • pot frying oil


1. In a medium mixing bow, whisk the butter and sugar add the egg and whisk until creamy. Add the milk, baking soda, salt and flour. Knead until you are left with a smooth dough that’s not sticky. Add more flour if needed. Add funfetti and knead until incorporated.

2. Roll the dough out on a floured surface, you want it to be thin but not see-through, cut into little strips, about 2 inches wide by 4 inches long.

3. Fry them in the hot oil in batches for a few minutes, making sure to turn them half way through to make sure they are getting evenly colored.

4. Drain on a paper towel lined plate and allow them to cool slightly.
