Hot dog Buns | Episode 527

 Hotdog stuffed fluffy buns, these rolls taste so good with almost any dip. The rolls are so soft and light.

Ingredients
  • 7g active dry yeast
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 150 ml water, lukewarm
  • 285g all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 50 ml sunflower oil + extra for your hands
  • 6 hot dogs
  • 1 egg yolk, to brush the top
Method

1. Stir together the water, yeast and sugar in a mixing bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes. 
Add the flour, salt and oil to the bowl and knead until a smooth ball of dough begins to form.

2. Transfer the dough to a lined bowl and cover. Allow to rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

3. Lightly oil the surface and your hands. Transfer the dough to the oiled surface and divide into 6 balls. Make a hole in the center of each dough and place a hot dog in each center and stretch the dough lightly with your hands. Place on a lined baking sheet.

4. Cover the baking sheet with stretch foil and allow to rise for 30 minutes.

5. Preheat the oven to 200 C / 390 F.

6. Brush the top of each bun with the egg yolk. 

7. Bake in preheated oven for about 12 to 15 minutes or until browned.

8. Serve with mustard and ketchup or your favorite sauce.
