Wrapped Asparagus



8 squares of puff pastry
8 slices cheese
8 white or green asparagus spears


1. Preheat your oven to 220C(428F) and line a baking sheet with parchemnt paper.

2. Wash and dry the asparagus. Trim the bottom ends off and peel any thick woody parts off. Peel the white asparagus. Bring a medium saucepan full of water to a boil. Add salt and a pinch of white granulated sugar. Place the asparagus in the boiling water and cook for 5 to 10 minutes. Drain and set aside.

3. Prick the center of the pastry thoroughly with a fork. Lay a piece of cheese on top of the puff pastry. Lay one piece of asparagus down on one end. Roll up the asparagus spear in the cheese and puff pastry. Brush the ends with water to seal. Repeat with remaining asparagus. Place on lined sheet.

4. Bake in preheated oven for about 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
