Fried Bananas | Episode 510

 Crispy fried bananas are simple to make.
They are coated with batter,  fried and dusted with confectioners sugar.

Ingredients
  • 2 bananas
  • 80g water
  • 60g self-rising flour
  • 10g cornstarch
  • 1/2 tbsp sunflower oil
  • 8g vanilla sugar
  • frying oil
  • Confectioners sugar, for dusting
Method

1. To make the batter: Mix the water, self-rising flour, cornstarch, vanilla and oil.

2. Heat a skillet filled with frying oil over medium heat.

3. Peel and cut the bananas in 4-5 pieces, then coat each banana with the batter.

4. Gently drop each piece of banana into the hot oil. Deep fry the bananas in batches. Turn the bananas over so both sides turn golden brown in color and become crispy.
Remove the fried bananas out of the oil.

5. Dust with confectioners sugar and serve the bananas warm.
