Apple fritters are deep fried donuts with apple and a touch of cinnamon.

Ingredients
  • 200 ml milk, lukewarm
  • 250g all-purpose flour
  • 7g active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1 apple, peeled, cored and cubed
oil for frying


Method

1. Mix the lukewarm milk and yeast.Stir in the flour and salt. 
Add the vanilla, cubed apple and cinnamon. Stir until incorporated. Cover the dough and allow to rise for 60 minutes

2. Heat a pot with frying oil.

3. Use an ice cream scoop or 2 metal spoons to shape scoops of dough into balls, (Dip your spoon into the oil before each scooping) and drop them carefully into the hot oil. Fry the balls until deep brown over medium heat.

4. Drain finished balls on paper towels and dust with confectioners' sugar. 
Serve them piled on a dish with more confectioners' sugar dusted over them.
