Ingredients
- 125 ml milk, lukewarm
- 7g instant yeast
- 30g granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 50g butter, softened
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 250g all-purpose flour
Instructions
1. In a small bowl, stir together the lukewarm milk, granulated sugar and yeast. Let sit for about 5 minutes. In a large mixing bowl, mix the the softened butter, egg, salt, baking powder and all-purpose flour. Mix in the yeast mixture and knead until smooth. Add more flour if dough is too sticky.
2. Transfer the dough to a oiled bowl, cover and let sit for about 1 hr or until doubled in size.
3. Divide dough into 8 portions. Shape each portion into a log. Place logs on a lined baking tray, 5cm apart. Cover with a tea towel and set aside in a warm place for 1 hr more.
3. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 210 C - 410 F.
4. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden and cooked through (buns will sound hollow when tapped). Transfer to a wire rack to cool.
