Holiday Hazelnut Sesame Cookies | Episode 421

Ingredients
  • 125g softened butter
  • 50g powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 100 ml sunflower oil
  • 380g all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 50g roasted sesame seeds
  • 50g roasted and crushed hazelnuts
  • 5 tbsp powdered sugar

Method

1. Preheat the oven to 175 C / 350 F and line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.

2. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter. Add the powdered sugar, vanilla extract and sunflower oil. Cream for about 5 minutes.

3. Add half of the all-purpose flour, baking powder and cinnamon, beat together. Add the remaining flour and beat until a smooth ball of dough begins to form. Add more flour if needed. Beat in the roasted sesame seeds and hazelnuts.

4. Roll dough into small balls. Place on lined baking sheet. 

5. Bake in preheated oven for about 15 to 18 minutes or until lightly browned.

6. Allow to cool for about 10 minutes. Sift some powdered sugar on top of each cookie.
